Le Salette Valpolicella Wines

Le Salette Valpolicella wines are made by an Italian winery with the French name…

Loacted in the Valpolicella village of Fumane, Le Salette has its roots in the family Scamperle, and their historical connection with the area through both growing grapes and making wine. Comprising of 20 hectares of vineyards, including the stellar I Progni e Cà Melchiori and  Fumane Ca’Carnoccchio , it is a small production and very highly awarded winery in the heart of the Classico DOC.

The origin of the name has its roots in the eradication of phylloxera in 1860, and the building of the sanctuary of Le Salette (named after an area in France where a similar miracle had occurred) by local farmers in celebration of ridding themselves of the dreaded vine pest.
