Abbazia Santa Anastasia Sicilian wines are produced by an absolutely unique operation located in an old monastery high in the hills south east of Palermo. Not only are they the only wine producer in that region, they are also 100% Organic and mostly Biodynamic, and they produce a number of varietal wines from vineyards ranging from 400m to around 1000m above sea level. Although they are only a couple of kilometres as the crow flies from the coast, this unique microclimate produces wines unlike any other in Sicily.
While the grape varieties are as expected for Sicily – Grillo, Nero d’Avola, Syrah etc, the wines are more complex and northern in style than any other producer on the island.
